In January 2018 we began the process of rebranding the entire Vital Proteins line of products, as well as developing many new form factors and product lines. This was an 11 month project to change all packaging (from conception to launch) as well as working with our wholesale retailers and Vital Protein’s DTC website.
Digital Advertising (through AdRoll, Amazon & Social Media) was a huge Marketing focus. I created many banner ads to support campaigns and product launches. I also implemented the use of gifs in emails, and we increased our sending frequency from once a month to daily.
This fitness-focused campaign was the second campaign launched by Vital Proteins, using fitness professionals and influencers in place of traditional models. The campaign was seamlessly integrated using both print and digital designs, encouraging consumers to live an active lifestyle everyday. This was also a team project, with many of us working together to create the assets.
Whether creating a GIF to share via instagram with Brand Advocates for a product launch or working in After Effects for a longer animation, I loved bringing our assets to life with movement.
Vital Proteins switched platforms while I worked with a developer to redesign our website to showcase our rebranded look as well as the first Marketing campaign launch.
The power of Social Media was very apparent at Vital Proteins. Working with the Social Media Director, I was able to directly contribute a more cohesive look and feel for the Social Media platforms (mainly Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter), which resulted in an increased from 59,000 Instagram followers to 390,000 in a little over 2 years. I also recognized the need for a professional photographer, and began producing, styling and art directing monthly photoshoots in Chicago. It was amazing to see how far we were able to develop the creative assets for the brand.
It was extremely important to have both printed and digital assets ready for our full product line, as well as individual products. Using the photos produced from our monthly photoshoots, I worked on Marketing Materials (from conception through print production) for Tradeshows, Retailers, and other Brand Activations.
A very exciting opportunity as a Designer at Vital Proteins was to not only brand swag/merchandise, but also source the items we printed on. These items were created for both the Marketing and Sales teams.
Vital Proteins attending over 85 trade shows annually. From food trucks & sprinter vans to indoor booths and graphic wall installations, I was able to work on many different types of environmental design.
The perfect mix of analog & digital design!
